Custom Bell Housing Adaptor for Engine to Hydraulic Pump

The Problem

The customer needed a new bell housing adaptor manufactured to connect an engine to a hydraulic pump. Rather than modifying an existing component, this was a new fabrication based on customer-supplied drawings, measurements and sample parts.

The Engineering Solution

Pinney Engineering Services manufactured the custom bell housing adaptor from individual components in the workshop. The main pipe section was cut to length, then both ends were faced and chamfered. A round engine-side flange and rectangular hydraulic pump-side flange were then manufactured to the supplied specifications. Once the individual components were complete, the assembly was accurately positioned and welded together to produce the finished adaptor.

The Custom Bell Housing Adaptor Result

The completed adaptor provided the required connection between the engine and hydraulic pump. After fabrication and machining were finished, the assembly was cleaned, paint protected and shipped to the customer ready for installation.

This job combined practical machine shop work with fabrication to manufacture a complete new component from customer drawings and measurements. Future reproductions will not require any sample or drawings.
