The Problem

The nylon bushes used in the customer’s trailer suspension were worn and needed replacing. Rather than trying to source an exact replacement, the worn bushes were supplied to Pinney Engineering Services so new components could be manufactured to suit the existing suspension setup.

The Engineering Solution

Pinney Engineering Services used the worn components as templates to reverse engineer a new set of Custom Nylon Bushes. The replacement bushes were measured and machined to reproduce the required dimensions and fit, providing a straightforward solution when the original components were worn and replacement parts were not readily available.

The Custom Nylon Bushes Result

The new nylon bushes were machined to suit the existing trailer suspension and finished ready for installation. This is a simple example of how reverse engineering and machining can reproduce worn components from an existing sample and keep older equipment and assemblies in service. We regularly engineer custom parts or parts that can take too long to source from overseas.
