The Problem
The bearing stubs on a set of turf tidy rollers were damaged and needed to be reclaimed.
When bearing stubs wear or become damaged, the roller can no longer run correctly through the bearings. Left too long, this can lead to poor operation, bearing failure, vibration, and further damage to the roller assembly.

The Engineering Solution
The rollers were set up on the large lathe so the damaged bearing stubs could be machined down, reclaimed with weld, and then turned back to the correct size.
This process allowed the existing components to be repaired rather than replaced, combining machine shop work with industrial component refurbishment and metal welding.

The Machine Shop Roller Bearing Stub Repair Result
The turf tidy rollers were returned to original specification and ready to go back into service.
By reclaiming and machining the damaged bearing stubs, Pinney Engineering Services restored the roller assemblies without the need for complete replacement components.
