Reverse Engineering & Machining a Replacement Gearbox Shaft
Machining a worn gearbox shaft for a sawmill application required reverse engineering, precision machining and heat treatment to manufacture a reliable new replacement component. The original shaft had been heavily worn and chewed out through service use, creating the risk of further gearbox damage, vibration, alignment issues and costly downtime if left in operation.
